Delta Gamma
Omicron-Adelphi University
Philanthropy
Delta Gamma is dedicated to helping our national philanthropy, Service for Sight. Locally, our chapter participates in various events that aim to raise awareness of aid to the blind, as well as blindness prevention. In more recent semesters, the sisters of Omicron chapter have joined thousands of others in the Walk to Cure Diatbetes, have collected eye glasses, and have made braille cards to send to schools for blind children. Omicron chapter strives to create new and exciting ways to help increase awareness of Service for Sight and to raise money for its cause. In September of 2008, the sisters of Omicron hosted their very first AnchorSplash, featuring the finest Slip-N-Slide Adelphi has ever seen. In November of 2008, they hosted their annual AnchorBowl and witnessed a turnout unlike any other in the past.
Since 1936, Delta Gamma has been dedicated to sight conservation. In recent years, the scope of the Foundation has expanded to include a wellness program (Well Aware), a career networking system (Cable Connection), and educational programming and leadership training. In 1990, the Delta Gamma Foundation acquired Art of the Eye, an educational exhibit created by professional artists who are visually impaired.
Omicron finds it their responsibilty to do their part in contributing to the cause that Delta Gamma has supported for so many years. We find enjoyment in knowing that we are making a difference for blind adults and children across the country.
our motto:
do good
